V-ray appeared on the world 3D graphics scene in 1997 and quickly became the most popular rendering software. The first versions of both engines were made specifically for 3ds Max and later adapted to other modelling programs. These engines are most commonly used along with 3ds Max, because it’s one of the first 3D graphics software that has a large number of users. Let’s analyze which programs are compatible with V-Ray and Corona Renderer. I was pleasantly surprised with the interactive renderer, which at that time worked better and faster than the competitor. I liked that in comparison to V-Ray, the training went more quickly and the learning curve is not as steep. When I first met V-Ray, it was hard for me to get used to the functionality, but by reviewing a lot of training videos and doing a few projects, I pretty quickly figured out the work of this engine.Īt that time, the Corona Renderer was already quite popular and I decided to study this engine as well. Both programs are owned by the same company, Chaos Group, and are becoming increasingly similar, making it difficult for professional visualizers to choose the right software. V-Ray and Corona Renderer are two of the most popular graphics engines.
